What if you put a big loping twin into a great handling euro-style bike? So Yamaha asked this in 81-82 and the XV920R is the result. The proven motor from the Virago 920 powers this remarkably rare 80s. Almost everyone I've seen has been chopped or welded into a custom or cafe. This one is way too nice for that treatment with only a little over 2000 miles on the clock. A long wheelbase and low center of gravity allows you to ride it much quicker than you would think. Think Japanese Ducati.This example is in remarkable condition and bone stock. A small dent on the tank is the only real flaw on the bike. It starts quickly and pulls strongly. Its a blast to ride!After a lengthy storage we recommissioned it by:Sonic cleaning and rebuilding the carbsReplaced spark plugsReplaced batteryOil and filter changedFront calipers and master cylinder rebuiltReplaced intake gasketsClean PA title included. One of the most popular models in Yamahas long history was the 650 twins of the 70s and 80s. Kind of "inspired" by Triumphs iconic Bonneville, the XS series gave us the look and style of the British twins but with much better reliability. The 77 was a favorite because of the paint combo and the electric start.This is a very healthy but original example. Paint and chrome are excellent. It is bone stock right down to the exhaust. Owned by a local Yamaha dealer since 1986, we've recommissioned it to a solid runner. Inside of the tank is clean and the tires/tubes are new. There is some rust starting to come through on the right side muffler but the rest of the exhaust system is excellent. Ignition is electronic.Our Team of pros did the following to prepare for sale:Flushed and rebuilt master cylinder and caliper.Sonic cleaned both carbs and rebuilt including replacing floats.Replaced battery and spark plugsFlushed fuel system and replaced petcocksReplace tires and tubesClean PA title included. This first year SR500 scream simplicity. One cylinder, 1 carb and kick start make it Yamaha's tribute to the classic ole school British singles. I always found it skinny, light and surprising easy to ride quickly. Like most singles, it starts on the first kick if you know how.This low mileage example is one of the few that haven't been converted to a cafe racer or some other personal expression. If you buy it, you can do what you want but I'd keep it true to 1978 period correct.This one starts and rides like new. It's been repainted and has minor imperfections but it hides them well. Its a rider - get out and enjoy motorcycling with any electronic aids or "techno-nannies". Motorcycling at its analog best!A new petcock was installed feeding a freshly rebuilt carb. The rear master cylinder got a rebuild as well. Both brakes were flushed. the tank and fuel system are clean and without issue. This big single is not for everyone but those that appreciate a return to the simple life will love the way it handles the back roads.

The 81 Seca 750 was a big intro in a year that was overwhelmed with new model introductions. A shaft drive sport bike that was the first 750 to do the quarter in less than 12 seconds in any other year would have been pretty big news. The VERY 80s styling only makes it retro-cool in 2026. It's in the actual riding where its comfort, smooth performance and easy riding position make it super enjoyable to spend time on.This example is in remarkable "time capsule" condition and totally bone-stock. Most of these got abused and modified over the years making this the perfect collector/rider to impress the Sunday morning meet-ups with.It's been thoroughly recommissioned after being stored for many years. Our vintage specialist replaced the battery, sonic cleaned and rebuilt the carbs, rebuilt the master cylinder and caliper. The Seca starts and performs flawlessly.
