What if you put a big loping twin into a great handling euro-style bike? So Yamaha asked this in 81-82 and the XV920R is the result. The proven motor from the Virago 920 powers this remarkably rare 80s. Almost everyone I've seen has been chopped or welded into a custom or cafe. This one is way too nice for that treatment with only a little over 2000 miles on the clock. A long wheelbase and low center of gravity allows you to ride it much quicker than you would think. Think Japanese Ducati.This example is in remarkable condition and bone stock. A small dent on the tank is the only real flaw on the bike. It starts quickly and pulls strongly. Its a blast to ride!After a lengthy storage we recommissioned it by:Sonic cleaning and rebuilding the carbsReplaced spark plugsReplaced batteryOil and filter changedFront calipers and master cylinder rebuiltReplaced intake gasketsClean PA title included. The Yamaha Seca series in the 80s came about during an especially creative development period for Yamaha (and the other Japanese OEMs). The XJ900 fell into a unique position in the market straddling sport and touring before those segments were really defined and sport bikes got serious. Think of the first GSXRs. With a smooth engine, comfortable seating and shaft drive, folks didn't really know what to do with it. So it didn't sell well. People missed out on a spectacular sporty bike you could ride all day.This example is a one -owner, low mileage that has been maintained properly and stored in a climate controlled environment all its life. We purchased it from the original owner and recommissioned it to be ridden and enjoyed. Here's a unicorn you've probably never seen in person. This CBX400F may look pretty conventional at first but closer inspection reveals some impressive tech especially for a 1982 motorcycle. This smooth and quick 4 cylinder 400 will amaze you with its razor sharp handling and lightweight feel - again on a 42 year old JDM (Japanese domestic market) motorcycle!Several innovations make this an exceptional investment ~Fairings are common today but this was the first Japanese sport motorcycle with a standard factory frame mounted fairing giving it the Integra name. The naked version is somewhat attainable in Asia but a stock Integra is super rare even in Japan. The next thing that will catch your eye is the inboard disc brakes on Comstar wheels. Then there's the first anti-dive mechanism (TRAC) and mono-shock rear suspension. Also rare for the time is Honda's self cancelling signalsThis example is totally stock and "unmolested" with original paint and decals. There are some very minor flaws on the decals near the from signals. This is a Type 1 CBX as confirmed by the VIN and the all silver Comstar wheels. The odometer indicates 6500 kilometers converting to just over 4000 miles.In preparation for sale after a few years storage we did the following:Replaced front and rear tiresReplaced battery and checked charging systemRebuilt both master cylindersRebuilt both brake cylindersNew air and oil filters/ oil changeClean and rebuilt carbsNew speedo cableNew spark plugsThe bike starts and runs as new!Clean PA title included.
